Clinical Report: Correction to Scribble Mis-localization Study

Overview

A correction published online on 5 June 2023 amends Extended Data Fig. 1f and its Source Data in the Nature Cancer article on Scribble mis-localization and adaptive resistance to KRAS G12C inhibitors. Three NCI-H358 snail control values had been duplicated in place of the NCI-H358 ZEB1 control values; the figure and Source Data have been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions.

Background

The original article examined Scribble mis-localization in the context of adaptive resistance to KRAS G12C inhibitors and feedback activation of MAPK signaling. The correction concerns the accuracy of one panel and its underlying Source Data, rather than reporting new clinical outcomes. Extended Data Fig. 1f contained incorrect NCI-H358 ZEB1 control values because snail control values were substituted during preparation. The amendment provides the original figure as Supplementary Information for comparison.

ErrorThree NCI-H358 snail control values were duplicated and substituted for NCI-H358 ZEB1 control values.
Correction madeFigure and Source Data corrected in the article’s HTML and PDF versions.
Comparison materialThe original figure is provided as Supplementary Information accompanying the amendment.

Key Findings

  • The amendment corrects a clerical error in preparation of the Source Data for Extended Data Fig. 1f and its accompanying plot.
  • Three NCI-H358 snail control values were duplicated and used in place of the NCI-H358 ZEB1 control values.
  • Incorrect values consequently appeared in both the Source Data and the corresponding figure panel.
  • The corrected figure and Source Data are available in the article’s HTML and PDF versions.
  • The original figure is included as Supplementary Information for comparison.
  • The correction is associated with the article on Scribble mis-localization, YAP-induced MRAS, and feedback activation of MAPK signaling in adaptive resistance to KRAS G12C inhibitors.

Clinical Implications

The amendment reports a clerical error affecting Extended Data Fig. 1f and its Source Data. It does not report new clinical outcome data or changes to treatment guidance.

Conclusion

The correction replaces the erroneous NCI-H358 ZEB1 control values in Extended Data Fig. 1f and its Source Data. The original figure remains available in the amendment’s Supplementary Information for comparison.
