Objective:

To evaluate the effects of teriparatide followed by zoledronic acid on fracture rates and bone mineral density (BMD) in adults with osteogenesis imperfecta compared to standard care.

Key Findings:
  • No statistically significant reduction in imaging-confirmed fractures in the teriparatide plus zoledronic acid group compared to standard care.
  • Bone mineral density improved significantly in the intervention group, particularly at the lumbar spine and total hip.
  • Incident fractures occurred in 36.9% of the intervention group and 36.4% of the standard care group, with no significant difference.
Interpretation:

Limitations:
