Objective:

To conduct a differential diagnosis between testicular seminoma and testicular embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) based on enhanced CT features.

Key Findings:
  • Significant differences in age, CT parameters, and laboratory indicators between ERMS and seminoma (all p < 0.05).
  • The parallel relationship between the lesion and the ipsilateral inguinal region, and the vascular ball sign showed statistically significant differences (p < 0.05).
  • ROC curve analysis yielded an AUC of 0.961, with a sensitivity of 86.7% and specificity of 96.7%.
  • Postoperative disease progression was significantly higher in ERMS patients compared to seminoma patients (66.67% vs. 3.3%).
Interpretation:

The presence of specific CT features can aid in differentiating testicular ERMS from seminoma.

Limitations:
  • Retrospective nature of the study may introduce bias.
  • Small sample size may limit the generalizability of the findings.
Conclusion:

Identifying the parallel relationship between the lesion and the ipsilateral inguinal region, as well as the vascular ball sign, is useful for differentiating testicular ERMS from seminoma.
