Objective:

To examine the knowledge, attitude, and utilization of female condoms among nursing students at the Nursing Training College, Ho.

Approach:
    Key Findings:
    • 55.5% of participants had poor knowledge regarding female condoms.
    • 57.7% had a positive attitude towards female condoms.
    • Actual utilization of female condoms was low at 7.7%.
    • Perceived challenges included difficulty in access (25.7%) and preference for other contraceptives (21.8%).
    • Marital status was a significant predictor of female condom use (OR = 4.31, 95% CI: 1.10–16.82, p = 0.036).
    Interpretation:

Despite a positive attitude towards female condoms, knowledge and actual usage remain low among nursing students.

    Limitations:
    • The study was limited to a single nursing training college.
    • Findings may not be generalizable to all nursing students in Ghana.
    Conclusion:

Integrating hands-on demonstrations, enhancing availability, and incorporating partner communication training are essential to improve female condom uptake.
