To provide pooled estimates of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) incidence and prevalence, and to examine variations according to age, geographic region, and methodological approach.
Approach:
Study Inclusion Criteria: Included population-based studies reporting DLB incidence or prevalence using validated diagnostic criteria, excluding editorials and studies lacking empirical data.
Data Extraction: Three reviewers independently extracted study data using a standardized form, including study characteristics and incidence/prevalence data.
Quality Assessment: Quality of studies was reviewed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale and Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist.
Statistical Analysis: Pooled estimates of incidence and prevalence were calculated using random-effects generalized linear mixed models.
