Objective: To map the available evidence on reported changes in HCV care during the COVID-19 pandemic across the HCV cascade of care.
Approach: Key Findings: COVID-19-related health service disruptions negatively impacted HCV management. A modeling study indicated potential excess cases of hepatocellular carcinoma and liver disease deaths due to delays in HCV care. The HCV cascade of care framework is useful for monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on HCV management. Interpretation:
Limitations: Excluded studies focusing solely on COVID-19 mitigation strategies without pre-pandemic data. Did not standardize comparator periods across studies, which may affect the comparability of findings. Conclusion:
