To report on the outcomes of immediate urethral reconstruction following a urethral injury during rectal cancer surgery.

  • Case Report: Describes a 57-year-old male patient with advanced rectoanal cancer who underwent laparoscopy-assisted abdominoperineal resection and sustained a partial tear of the membranous urethra.

  • Immediate urethral reconstruction resulted in preserved urinary function.
  • No evidence of stricture or incontinence was observed through 4 years of follow-up.
  • The injury was repaired using five interrupted absorbable sutures with confirmed watertight closure.
