To report a clinical case of a patient with incisional surgical site infection after laparoscopic surgery and the use of blood-letting cupping therapy as an adjuvant treatment.
Approach:
Patient Case: A 75-year-old female developed incisional surgical site infection after laparoscopic biopsy for cholangiocarcinoma. She exhibited symptoms including incision inflammation, elevated CRP levels, and fever.
Treatment: The patient received five sessions of blood-letting cupping therapy tailored to her condition.
Follow-up: Post-treatment, the local incision infection resolved, inflammatory markers normalized, and no recurrence was observed during a 3-month follow-up.
Key Findings:
The patient showed typical signs of infection post-surgery.
Blood-letting cupping therapy led to resolution of the infection and normalization of inflammatory markers.
