Key Findings:
  • Reninoma can occur with normal or decreased plasma renin activity (PRA) but elevated direct renin concentration (DRC).
  • Diagnosis should not be excluded based solely on the absence of elevated renin activity or refractory hypertension.
  • Lateralization of renin levels is more applicable in cases with smaller tumors.
Interpretation:

The findings suggest that reninoma may be misdiagnosed due to atypical laboratory results.

Limitations:
  • Limited number of cases reviewed.
  • Potential for misdiagnosis due to atypical presentations and laboratory results.
Conclusion:

A combination of blood tests and imaging analysis is necessary for accurate diagnosis of reninoma.
