Objective:

To introduce the KATANA™ Zirconia ONE SPEED's new sintering capability using the CEREC® SpeedFire furnace.

Approach:
  • Sintering Process: KATANA Zirconia ONE SPEED can be sintered in approximately 8 minutes when using the pre-heating function of the CEREC® SpeedFire furnace.
  • Pre-heating Function: The pre-heating function raises the furnace temperature to approximately 400°C before sintering begins, reducing the standard 9-minute cycle.
Key Findings:
  • The new sintering option is designed for clinicians using chairside zirconia in same-day restorative workflows.
  • The workflow requires CEREC System version 5.2.13 or 5.3.3 and later.
Limitations:
  • The new sintering option is only compatible with specific versions of the CEREC System.
