Objective: To assess the feasibility of the submental approach robotic-assisted neck dissection (SARAND) for minimally invasive bilateral procedures.
Approach: Study Design: Three fresh-frozen human cadavers were used to develop and evaluate the SARAND technique in a series of cadaveric resections.Surgical Techniques: Both multiport and single-port approaches were performed using the da Vinci Xi and da Vinci SP surgical systems, respectively.Key Findings: SARAND allows for bilateral neck dissection through a single submental incision, minimizing tissue trauma. The technique provides adequate exposure and access to both primary tumors and neck lymphatics. Insufflation during the single-port approach improved visualization and reduced soft tissue collapse. Limitations: The study was conducted on cadavers, which may not fully replicate live surgical conditions. The da Vinci SP system's intended use is currently limited to transoral procedures in the EU. Conclusion:
