Objective:

To report a case of erythema gyratum repens (EGR) associated with severe adenomyosis and endometriosis in a non-paraneoplastic context and to review the spectrum of triggers for EGR.

Approach:
  • Case Presentation: A 37-year-old woman presented with pruritic, concentric erythematous plaques and a history of pelvic pain and menorrhagia. She had a 2-year history of these plaques, which were refractory to multiple topical and systemic therapies.
Key Findings:
  • The patient had a significant elevation in CA-125 levels.
  • Histopathological examination confirmed severe adenomyosis and endometriosis.
  • EGR resolved completely after surgical intervention without additional dermatologic treatment, highlighting the relationship between her gynecological conditions and the skin lesions.
Interpretation:

This case broadens the understanding of non-paraneoplastic conditions associated with EGR.

Limitations:
  • The patient was lost to follow-up, limiting long-term assessment of the condition and its potential recurrence.
Conclusion:

The findings indicate that EGR can be associated with severe gynecological conditions like adenomyosis and endometriosis.
