Objective:

To elucidate the relationship between blood pressure levels upon hospital admission and in-hospital stroke in patients hospitalized with atrial fibrillation (AF).

Key Findings:
  • Multivariable-adjusted odds ratios (95% CIs) indicated increased stroke risk for higher blood pressure categories: 1.27 (1.16–1.39) for 140–159/90–99 mmHg, 1.26 (1.11–1.45) for 160–179/100–109 mmHg, and 1.76 (1.44–2.15) for ≥180/110 mmHg.
Interpretation:

Limitations:
  • The study is limited to a single center in Xinjiang, which may affect the generalizability of the findings.
  • The retrospective nature of the study may introduce biases in data collection and analysis.
