Objective:

To investigate whether pre-treatment multidisciplinary team (MDT) care is associated with improved outcomes, specifically local recurrence and distant metastasis, in FNCLCC grade 3 soft tissue sarcoma (STS).

Approach:
    Key Findings:
    • MDT care was associated with lower 3-year local recurrence (6.8% vs 21.2%; unadjusted OR = 0.272, 95% CI not provided, P = 0.002).
    • Results remained consistent after PSM (paired OR = 0.259, 95% CI not provided, P = 0.021) and IPTW (OR = 0.296, 95% CI not provided, P = 0.008).
    • No significant difference in 3-year distant metastasis between groups (weighted OR = 0.846, 95% CI 0.418–1.714, P = 0.643).
    Interpretation:

Pre-treatment MDT care was associated with improved 3-year local control in FNCLCC grade 3 STS, suggesting potential benefits for clinical practice, but did not significantly reduce 3-year distant metastasis.

    Limitations:
    • Retrospective design may introduce selection bias, potentially affecting the generalizability of the findings.
    • Adherence to MDT recommendations was not systematically captured, which may influence outcomes.
    Conclusion:

MDT care improves local control in FNCLCC grade 3 STS but does not significantly affect distant metastasis outcomes.
