To determine the incidence of intraoperative cardiac events in children undergoing cardiac MRI with anesthesia and identify factors independently associated with these events.
Approach:
Study Design: Retrospective evaluation of patients ≤ 18 years who underwent cardiac MRI with anesthesia at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center from 2013 to 2025.
Inclusion Criteria: Patients undergoing cardiac MRI with anesthesia; cases without anesthesia and combined procedures were excluded.
Outcome Definition: Intraoperative cardiac events defined as a composite of hemodynamic instability and severe adverse cardiac events.

The incidence of intraoperative cardiac events during cardiac MRI with anesthesia is poorly described.
Children with congenital heart disease (CHD) undergoing noncardiac surgery have higher rates of perioperative complications.
