Vision Correction With Bitoric GP Lenses for Infantile Nystagmus Patients

To evaluate the effectiveness of bitoric GP lenses in correcting vision for a patient with infantile nystagmus.

Patient Case Description: A 13-year-old Hispanic male with infantile nystagmus and high levels of aniseikonia was fitted with contact lenses after a low vision evaluation.
Lens Selection and Fitting: Initially, soft toric lenses were chosen, but due to difficulties with application and removal, a bitoric lens was suggested and ordered.
Outcome Assessment: After fitting with the bitoric lens, the patient achieved 20/100 vision and a 40% reduction in nystagmus magnitude.

Bitoric GP lenses provided better vision correction compared to soft toric lenses.
The smaller diameter of bitoric lenses facilitated easier application and removal.
The patient reported increased comfort and engagement with his surroundings after lens fitting.

The study is based on a single patient case, limiting generalizability.
