Dietary Influence on Leukemia and Lymphoma Progression

Share

A 66-year-old woman diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in 2015 saw significant changes in her lymphocyte counts through dietary modifications. After avoiding red meat and cooking other animal proteins at lower temperatures, her leukemic cell count dropped from 16,000/mm3 to 10,000/mm3 in three months. When she resumed meat consumption, the count increased to 20,000/mm3. The adoption of a raw, home-cooked diet led to stabilization of her lymphocyte levels, suggesting a link between diet and CLL progression. This case highlights the potential of dietary interventions in managing cancer, particularly for CLL patients, urging for further clinical studies in this area.
