Researchers at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center conducted a phase II trial to evaluate the effectiveness of AI-assisted communication on patient anxiety and clinician workload in preoperative settings for prostate cancer patients undergoing radical prostatectomy. The study enrolled patients randomly assigned to either standard or AI-assisted communications. Results showed that the AI group reported significantly lower anxiety and reduced clinician workload, as evidenced by improved scores on standardized assessments and decreased communication time, with intentions to enhance AI systems further in clinical settings.
