A randomized controlled trial conducted in Francisco Beltrão, Brazil, demonstrated that remote low-carbohydrate nutrition education significantly improved glycemic control, body weight, and reduced oral antidiabetic medication use in noninsulin-treated type 2 diabetes patients. The trial included 58 participants aged 40-89, showing a decrease in HbA1c from 7.90% to 6.99% in the intervention group, while the control group saw an increase. Despite limitations, the study suggests that structured digital support is more effective than usual care in managing type 2 diabetes.
