To explore social drivers of health (SDOH), disease burden, and the impact of psoriasis across different racial and ethnic groups in the United States.
Approach:
Study Design: Cross-sectional, noninterventional, anonymous web survey conducted from September 2023 to December 2023 involving participants with psoriatic disease.
Participant Recruitment: Participants were recruited through the National Psoriasis Foundation and AmeriSpeak, targeting a national probability sample.
Survey Content: The survey included 80-110 items assessing health and psychosocial factors, with data quality checks to ensure integrity.
Key Findings:
Black/African American and Hispanic/Latino participants reported more frequent barriers to timely access to care.
Common barriers included longer wait times, transportation challenges, and cultural or language differences with providers.
Quality of life impacts were high across all groups, with noted variations in financial burden and trust in healthcare providers.
