Mapping the Global Research Landscape and Key Areas of Interest in Paraptosis: A Comprehensive Bibliometric Analysis and Literature Review

Key Findings:
  • 401 publications were included, showing an overall fluctuating upward trend in annual output, particularly from 2020 to 2025.
  • China was the most productive country (155 publications), and Ajou University was the leading institution (19 publications).
  • Choi Kyeong Sook was identified as a core author, while Sperandio S was the most frequently co-cited author.
  • Research hotspots included phenotypic identification, relationships with other forms of cell death, mechanistic investigation, and cancer-related research.
Interpretation:

Paraptosis research has evolved from phenotypic identification to mechanistic elucidation and potential applications, particularly in cancer research.

Limitations:
