Objective:

To assess the effectiveness of the ADDIE-CBL integrated teaching model in the context of rehabilitation nursing courses at vocational colleges.

Approach:
  • Study Design: A quasi-experimental study design was utilized involving two cohorts of students from the geriatric nursing program.
  • Participants: Participants included students from Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College, with a control group receiving conventional instruction and an experimental group taught using the ADDIE-CBL model.
  • Assessment: Assessments of critical thinking disposition and humanistic care ability were conducted before and after the intervention, alongside comparisons of academic performance and teaching satisfaction.
Key Findings:
  • No significant differences in theory examination scores between the control and experimental groups (p > 0.05).
  • The experimental group showed higher scores in regular examinations, practical examinations, final examinations, critical thinking disposition, humanistic care ability, and teaching satisfaction (all p < 0.05).
Limitations:
  • The study was limited to a single institution, which may affect the generalizability of the findings.
  • The quasi-experimental design may introduce biases that affect the results.
