Appointment Announcement: Phoenix Children’s has appointed Dr. Carolina V. Guimaraes, a nationally recognized pediatric radiologist, as Vice President and Chief of Radiology.
Background and Experience: Dr. Guimaraes joins from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she served as Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics and led significant growth in Pediatric Radiology.
Leadership and Vision: She is expected to lead the Radiology team, enhance pediatric imaging services, and advance patient care, education, and research.

Dr. Guimaraes has a strong background in pediatric radiology and operational leadership.
She has expanded pediatric imaging services and established a Pediatric Radiology Fellowship Program at UNC.
Dr. Guimaraes is recognized for her expertise in fetal, neonatal, and pediatric neuroimaging.
