To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel repositionable plastic stent (PS) for endosonography-guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS-HGS) in patients with malignant or benign biliary disease.
Approach:
Patient Selection: Included patients undergoing EUS-HGS for malignant biliary obstruction or benign biliary disease, excluding those under 20 years, those who underwent EUS-HGS with an initial plan for placement of a metal stent, those in whom puncture was deemed difficult due to insufficient dilation of the intrahepatic bile duct on EUS evaluation, and those who underwent EUS-HGS during a live endoscopic demonstration.
