Objective:

To report a case of lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of the bladder (LELCB) and contribute to the understanding of this rare subtype of urothelial carcinoma.

Approach:
  • Pathological Findings: Histopathological examination revealed tumor cells with nuclear enlargement, hyperchromasia, and irregular nuclear contours, exhibiting a nested and infiltrative growth pattern. A dense lymphoid stromal infiltrate was present, characteristic of LELCB.
Key Findings:
  • LELCB accounts for less than 1.3% of malignant bladder tumors.
  • The patient experienced recurrence despite chemotherapy.
  • Postoperative pathology consistently indicated LELCB.
Interpretation:

Limitations:
  • The rarity of LELCB limits the generalizability of findings.
  • The patient's multiple comorbidities affected treatment options.
Conclusion:

This case contributes to the limited understanding of LELCB and emphasizes the need for further research into its treatment.
