Objective: To announce the FDA approval of the Dual Energy THERMOCOOL SMARTTOUCH SF Platform for catheter ablation.
Approach: Platform Overview: The platform allows delivery of both pulsed field and radiofrequency energy through a single catheter.Integration: It is integrated with the CARTO ecosystem, which includes mapping, imaging, and pulsed field index guidance.Key Findings: The platform is built on the THERMOCOOL SMARTTOUCH SF catheter platform, used in over one million US patients. It enables precise contact force delivery of energy tailored to patient anatomy and case complexity. First US procedures are expected to begin this summer as part of a phased rollout. Interpretation: The platform provides electrophysiologists with the flexibility to choose between RF and PF energy based on procedural needs.
