To investigate whether HtrA1 could help predict the outcome or clinical course of patients with Giant Cell Tumor of Bone (GCTB).

Approach:

    • Recurrence rates for GCTB remain around 15-30%, with metastasis rates of approximately 5%.
    • HtrA1 expression was evaluated in giant cells and mononuclear cells, with high expression defined as more than 75% positivity.
    • Statistical analysis indicated associations between HtrA1 expression and recurrence rates.
    Interpretation:

    Limitations:
    • Small sample size may limit the generalizability of the findings.
    • No multivariable adjustment was performed due to the limited number of recurrence events.
