Objective:

To understand and summarize the disease characteristics and treatment experience of lymphoepithelial carcinoma, an extremely rare malignant tumor in salivary glands.

Approach:
  • Case Reports: Three cases of lymphoepithelial carcinoma were reported, all undergoing surgical treatment and postoperative radiotherapy.
Key Findings:
  • All cases were pathologically diagnosed with lymphoepithelial carcinoma of salivary gland.
  • Two cases had cervical lymph node metastasis.
  • Two cases have been followed up for 15 months without local recurrence or distant metastasis.
  • One case developed hepatic metastasis at 8 months post-radiotherapy and underwent surgery for the liver lesion.
Interpretation:

Lymphoepithelial carcinoma of salivary gland has a complex etiology and requires combined treatment based on surgery.

Limitations:
  • The study is based on a small sample size of three cases.
  • Long-term outcomes and effectiveness of treatments remain uncertain due to the limited follow-up.
Conclusion:

Targeted therapy and immunotherapy may be potential future treatments.
