To describe the clinical utility and diagnostic implications of multicancer early detection (MCED) technology in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) through case reports.
Approach:
Study Design: Retrospective review of patients referred to the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery department with a positive Galleri MCED result suggesting HNSCC from January 2020 to March 2026.
Patient Inclusion: Three patients with positive MCED results indicating HNSCC were included in the review.
Key Findings:
Three patients identified through Galleri testing were confirmed to have HNSCC.
Patient A was diagnosed with invasive HPV-mediated squamous cell carcinoma after bilateral tonsillectomy.
Patient B's MCED result indicated HPV-associated head and neck cancer, with further diagnostic workup ongoing.
