To report a unique case of simultaneous bilateral lens abnormalities following cataract surgery in a patient with axial high myopia.
Approach:
Case Presentation: A 60-year-old woman with severe myopia underwent cataract surgery in the right eye, which led to rapid development of capsular contraction syndrome (CCS) and lens dislocation in the left eye.
Surgical Interventions: The right eye underwent Nd: YAG laser treatment and later surgical anterior capsular release due to significant decentration of the intraocular lens (IOL). The left eye required pars plana vitrectomy and secondary scleral-sutured IOL implantation.
Key Findings:
The right eye developed anterior capsular contraction and significant IOL decentration post-surgery.
The left eye experienced spontaneous complete lens dislocation into the vitreous cavity without prior trauma.
Surgical interventions were necessary for both eyes to address complications.
Limitations:
The findings are based on a single case report, limiting generalizability.
Long-term outcomes and recurrence of complications were not fully assessed.
