HHS introduced the voluntary Health Center Healthy Lifestyle Commitment on October 14, 2026, to promote nutrition, prevention, and healthy living in routine care.

  • 2

The initiative encourages HRSA-supported health centers to address nutritious eating, physical activity, sufficient sleep, reduced screen time, and chronic disease prevention.

  • 3

HHS encourages participating centers to use and display the new food pyramid to help patients and families understand the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025–2030.

  • 4

HRSA offers nutrition education materials, patient and provider tools, and practical guidance through its new Health Centers and Nutrition webpage.

  • 5

Participation is voluntary, creates no additional federal requirements or standards of care, and does not affect eligibility for or receipt of HRSA funding.
