This study evaluated health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Chinese children with newly diagnosed immune thrombocytopaenia using the Kids’ ITP Tools scale.

  • 2

A total of 88 child self-reports and 215 parent proxy-reports were collected from nine tertiary hospitals between 2023 and 2025.

  • 3

Significant parent-child discordance in HRQoL scores was found, with parents reporting poorer HRQoL by a mean difference of 20.06 points at diagnosis.

  • 4

The study demonstrated excellent scale reliability, with Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.944 for parents and 0.910 for children.

  • 5

Findings indicate the need for culturally informed family-centered psychosocial interventions and support for parents of children with ITP.
