A total of 204 patients with diabetes-related dry eye syndrome were included, with 104 receiving CsA and 100 receiving SH eye drops postoperatively.

Ciclosporin eye drops showed significant improvements in noninvasive breakup time, tear meniscus height, and Schirmer I test compared to sodium hyaluronate.

The corneal fluorescein staining score indicated less corneal epithelial damage in the CsA group over time compared to the SH group.

Overall, 0.05% ciclosporin eye drops were associated with better tear film quality and stability after vitrectomy for diabetes-related dry eye syndrome.
