In June 2026, the FDA approved Viridian Therapeutics’ Lumvoa™ for treating active and chronic thyroid eye disease (TED).

Lumvoa is the first treatment to show statistically significant diplopia response and resolution in TED, according to the THRIVE clinical program.

Clinical trials indicated that Lumvoa resulted in nearly 3 millimeters of proptosis reduction and significant improvement in diplopia.

Approximately 70% of patients experienced a proptosis reduction of greater than two millimeters, while close to 60% showed improvement in double vision.

Lumvoa demonstrated a favorable side-effect profile, with hearing symptoms reported in about 5% of patients during clinical trials.
