Vyriad has initiated a phase I trial of VV169, a lentiviral therapy for generating BCMA-targeted CAR T cells in patients with multiple myeloma.

VV169 is administered intravenously and does not require prior collection or modification of patient T cells, unlike traditional CAR T therapies.

The trial is open-label and nonrandomized, aiming to enroll up to 40 adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
